Televisions.com has evaluated the Yamaha BD-S 1065’s performance using a combination of laboratory testing and subjective output-quality analysis. In a review published on the site’s homepage today, this method of evaluation resulted in an overall rating of 7.8 out of 10. The review awarded points for the player’s high-quality output of film-based content, as well as its support for BD-Live, but expressed disappointment with the device’s DVD de-interlacing. Televisions.com also criticised the Yamaha’s audible fan and slow disc drive. The comprehensive audio outputs clearly impressed the review team and were perhaps the player’s biggest saving grace – the review applauds, for example, the presence of an analogue output for HD audio: “Yamaha’s new BD player is one of only a few on the market to deliver the new audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD to older HDMI-1.1 receivers that lack a bit-stream decoder.”

The review goes on to examine in detail the picture quality with DVDs and Blu-rays. High-definition signals from Blu-rays impress the reviewers, who describe the resulting pictures as flawless. It’s a different story with DVDs, which draw various criticisms from Televisions.com. The site’s editor-in-chief and head tester, Florian Friedrich, said in the review: “All test sequences from films or TV material – without exception – suffered from flicker. This is reminiscent of the first DVD players released in the 1990s!” There’s also harsh criticism of the lack of multimedia capabilities: The review points out that – via USB, at least – the player only supports BD-Live and JPEG playback, which is well below expectations for a device at this price point.

Criticism even extends to the player’s remote control, which, although easy to use, lacks direct-access buttons for rotating or zooming during photo playback. All in all, the review gives a fairly negative round-up of the Yamaha’s performance. One reviewer summarised: “This is a great Blu-ray player, but that’s not enough these days. The only obvious reason to buy it is if you’re hanging on to an older AV receiver and need a 7.1-channel analogue output. Even then, there are better, cheaper players out there than can do the same as the Yamaha.”

Interior Creatives
The interior creatives of Avasar Banquet Hall are done as per the latest ‘Cotemporary Studio Format’ that involves the simple and minimal yet stylish jobs at large. Prior to the interior makeover the space was an old hall and thus it was quite challenging for Ketan Sheth to make it new-fangled without any major structural changes. To give a rich look to the entrance, ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel) combined with thick glass is used as it would give an inside look to the guests standing outside. Along with fine looks ACP brings along a lot of other benefits-of-use as it is durable and is easy to clean.
Still preferred by many the wall colours have now revolutionized to pastel colors like white, muted pink and off-white as they give a calm and spacious appearance to the rooms, other than its retrograde cousins like whole greens and blues that actually make the room appear tight. At Avasar colors like beige and orange has been used that give the hall a fine, rich and an up to date look. The flooring too has beige colored tiles that in accordance with the wall colors make the space look large and wide. Special spacers with grouting have been installed in between tiles to avoid cracks due to expansion and contraction. Since the property is situated near to the railway station, proper spacing between the tiles have been done to take in the floor vibrations. Also the acoustics of the Banquet hall is designed with special sound absorber inbuilt fabrics in the walls that take up the sounds and echoes.

In view of the fact that the vertical height of Avasar Banquet hall is almost 16 feet, fancy decorative lights have been used all over along with a big alabaster chandelier is in the centre to give brightness. Frosted/ textured mirrors have been also installed for light management. A large mirror or several small mirrors placed strategically can make a small space feel lighter and larger. For a more modern style of decorating, furniture and tables with metal or glass can visually expand the space. The Banquet hall also has a dining area with fine tiling and equipments for cooking & serving purpose where several sections have been made spaciously in the kitchen for like washing, Gas cooking, cutting and chopping etc. For Durability Stainless steel is used all over the kitchen which is also hygienic and is easy to clean & rust free. The ambience of the hall is almost similar to a four star hotel.

Here are some important things to remember when you are going for the test

What happens at the theory test centre?

You should arrive at the test centre in plenty of time. Once you have registered at reception you will go through to the test room. You may not take anything into the room with you; all personal items must be stored in the lockers provided. Once you are in the test room you may not talk to or distract other candidates. The computer screen will display your name and the category of test you are taking.  If you have any problems during the theory test, you should raise your hand to attract the attention of the test invigilator.

What do I need to take to the theory test centre?

You must bring the following items with you. If you do not, DSA may refuse to carry out the test and you may lose your fee.

• Both parts of your valid signed GB or NI (Northern Ireland) driving licence.
• If you have an old-style paper licence you must bring both your paper licence and a valid passport.
• Your appointment letter.
  Please Note:
• If you misplace your licence, you must apply for a replacement from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), which could take up to15 days. If this happens, you may have to re-arrange your test.

Facilities for those whose first language is not English

If your first language is not English, or you can not read or understand written English well, you can request a voiceover in one of 21 languages. A voiceover allows you to hear the theory test instructions and questions through headphones. The questions will automatically be read out to you, you can hear the answer options by touching the text on the screen. You can hear the questions as many times as you like, you simply need to touch the text of the question onscreen again.

It is your responsibility to arrange a test date with the translator and to pay any fees involved.

Facilities for those with reading difficulties

If you have dyslexia or other reading difficulties you can ask for an English or Welsh voiceover. You can also request to have up to double time for the multiple choice part of the theory test. If you require more than the standard time of 40 minutes for the multiple choice part you will need to send in evidence of your reading difficulty to the theory test booking customer services.

Facilities for those with hearing difficulties

If you are deaf or have hearing difficulties you can ask to take the theory test in British sign language (BSL). The BSL interpretation will run alongside the standard test questions and answers. If you do not use BSL, an interpreter can be taken into the test centre, this facility needs to be arranged through the theory test customer services section. There is no extra fee for either facility.
